Ludwig von Zastrow

Ludwig von Zastrow (* 1680 in Kölpin , Neustettin district ; † January 30, 1761 near Stade ) was general of the infantry and commander of Stade in the Elector of Brunswick-Lüneburg .

Ludwig von Zastrow came from the Zastrow family , he was the son of Bernd Christian von Zastrow (1644-1717), heir to Kölpin, Bärwalde and Neuhof and Margarethe Hedwig von Hechthausen adH Zarnewantz . He was married to Agnes von Bernstorff adH Rüting († 1776), with whom he had at least one son: Andreas Weding von Zastrow (1726–1895) became Prussian chamberlain in 1756,

Life

Zastrow was initially in French, but changed in 1707 to Kurhannoversche services. There he was first promoted to colonel and on February 5, 1737 to chief of the Lucius infantry regiment. In January 1743 Zastrow was brigadier and in March 1744 was promoted to major general , finally on August 25, 1747 Lieutenant General and Governor of Stade. In the battle of Fontenoy he had distinguished himself against the French cavalry and was wounded.

At the beginning of the Seven Years' War he was in the rank of general of infantry and as such had the command of the kurhannoverschen , Hesse-Kassel rule , Brunswick and Schaumburg-bückeburgerischen quotas that he April 17, 1757 Duke August Wilhelm von Cumberland handed. In the battle of Hastenbeck , Zastrow commanded the right wing. In 1747 he became governor of Stade, where he decided his life.

Zastrow was also, from his father's inheritance, majorate on Kölpin, which had been assigned a Fideikommiss since 1753 .
