In the further course the Luhne flows through Bickenriede and Lengefeld and takes on the Steingraben and Rodegraben here . Shortly before it flows into the Unstrut near Ammern , the Schildbach flows towards it.
Flood protection
In heavy rain and melting snow, the water level swells quickly and floods not only the Luhnedörfer, but also Ammern and the city of Mühlhausen . That is why the Luhne-Lengefeld flood retention basin was created from 1952 to 1954 .
