Marc Stendera (born December 10, 1995 in Kassel ) is a German football player . The offensive midfielder is under contract with Hannover 96 .

Career

Stendera started playing football in the youth of TSV Heiligenrode and later went to OSC Vellmar . In 2010 he moved to the Eintracht Frankfurt youth training center . There he represented the unity u. a. in the B and A junior Bundesliga .

From the 2012/13 season Stendera took part in the training of the first team. At the end of October 2012, he extended his contract, which turned into a professional contract on his 18th birthday, until June 30, 2015. On April 6, 2013 (28th matchday) he came in the 0-1 defeat at home to FC Bayern Munich on their Bundesliga debut . At that time, Stendera was 17 years, three months and 27 days old, making her one of the youngest Bundesliga professionals of all time. On the 30th matchday of the 2012/13 season he was in the starting line-up for the first time on April 20, 2013 in a 1-0 home win against FC Schalke 04 and prepared the winning goal. On July 13, 2013, Stendera tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee during a test match in Frankfurt-Höchst against VfR Aalen during the preparation for the season and had to pause almost until the end of the season. He scored his first goal in the Bundesliga on November 22, 2014 in a 3-1 win at Borussia Mönchengladbach . In the 2014/15 season , Stendera started 20 times for Eintracht Frankfurt, was used 25 times and scored three goals. On October 24, 2015, Stendera scored two goals in a Bundesliga game for the first time in his career in a 2-1 away win against Hannover 96 . In May 2018 he won the DFB Cup with Eintracht after beating FC Bayern Munich 3-1 in the final . In August 2018, Stendera was removed from the squad by the new coach Adi Hütter, along with six other players, and transferred to a separate training group. At the beginning of September 2018 he was reintegrated into team training together with the other four players who had not found a new club by the end of the transfer period and made eleven competitive appearances by the end of the season, four of them in the Europa League .

At the beginning of September 2019, Stendera's contract in Frankfurt, which ran until 2020, was terminated by mutual agreement. He then signed a one-year contract with the second division Hannover 96 .

At the international level, Stendera went through the U17 , U18 and U19 youth teams of the DFB and took part in the U17 European Championship 2012 in Slovenia . There he reached the final with the team , but lost 4-5 on penalties against the selection of the Netherlands . In 2013, Stendera made her debut in the German U19 team . With her he became U19 European champions on July 31, 2014 with a 1-0 win in the final against Portugal in Budapest . In 2014 and 2015 Stendera was a player in the U20 national team . In May 2015 he was appointed to the squad for the U20 World Cup in New Zealand .
