Luigi Paolo Angelo Belloli (born July 25, 1923 in Inveruno , Province of Milan , Italy ; † November 5, 2011 ibid) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Anagni-Alatri .

Life

Luigi Paolo Angelo Belloli studied in the seminary of Venegono Inferiore and in Milan . He was ordained a priest on June 15, 1946 by the Archbishop of Milan, Alfredo Ildefonso Schuster . He was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD and taught at the Collegio San Carlo di Milano . In 1961 he was appointed Regent of the Collegio Borromeo di Pavia . In 1969 he was called to the reign of the Pontifical Lombard Seminary in Rome . On October 11, 1973, Pope Paul VI awarded him . the honorary title of Apostolic Protonotary .

Pope . John Paul II appointed him on 7 December 1987 Bishop of Anagni-Alatri and donated to him on January 6, 1988 at St. Peter's Basilica , the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were Eduardo Martínez Somalo , substitute for the State Secretariat , and Giovanni Battista Re , Secretary of the Congregation for Bishops . On March 6, 1999, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.

Belloli was an honorary canon of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome.

In 2005 he was awarded the Premio Internazionale Bonifacio VIII . The Inveruno City Council appointed him Cittadino Benemerito .
