Luis Manuel López Alfaro

Luis Manuel López Alfaro (born June 21, 1963 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in San Cristóbal de Las Casas .

Life

Luis Manuel López Alfaro initially obtained a degree in agricultural engineering . He then studied at the Seminary of the Diocese of Toluca , for which he received the sacrament of ordination on August 15, 1991 .

In addition to various tasks in parish pastoral care, he was spiritual and educator at the boys' college in Toluca. He was dean and was a member of the Priestly Council of the Diocese of Toluca. In 2004 he was incardinated in the clergy of the diocese of San Cristóbal de Las Casas . In this diocese he was pastor and spiritual director of the diocesan seminary. He was at times episcopal vicar for pastoral care and was a member of the priestly council and the college of consultors of the diocese. Bishop Rodrigo Aguilar Martínez appointed him vicar general .

Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Garba and auxiliary bishop of San Cristóbal de Las Casas on June 6, 2020 . The bishop of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Rodrigo Aguilar Martínez , ordained him episcopal on August 28 of the same year . Co- consecrators were his predecessor Felipe Arizmendi Esquivel and the Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, Archbishop Franco Coppola .
