The district of Llacllín is located in the province of Recuay in the Ancash region in southwestern Peru . The district was established on November 8, 1963. It has an area of 95.9 km². The 2017 census counted 945 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 891, in 2007 it was 1418. The administrative seat of the district is the 3008 m high village of Llacllín with 583 inhabitants (as of 2017). Llacllín is 42 km south-southwest of the provincial capital Recuay .
Geographical location
The Llacllín district is located in the southwest of the Recuay province. It is located on the western flank of the Cordillera Negra . The area is drained to the south via the Quebrada Chacaynacyoc to the Río Fortaleza .
The Llacllín district is bordered to the west by the district Pararín , on the north by the district Tapacocha , in the northeast on the district Huayllapampa and on the southeast by the district Antonio Raymondi ( Bolognesi Province ).
