Luis Francisco Miranda Rivera OCarm (born January 24, 1954 in Santurce ) is a Puerto Rican religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Fajardo-Humacao .

Life

Luis Miranda Rivera joined after graduating from high school of the Congregation of the Carmelites at. He studied philosophy at the University of Puerto Rico at Camous Bayamón and theology at the Pontifical University of Salamanca . He made his first profession on August 15, 1980 and his perpetual profession on September 21, 1983 . On September 14, 1984, he received the sacrament of ordination through the Archbishop of San Juan de Puerto Rico , Cardinal Luis Aponte Martínez .

After his ordination he was active in parish pastoral care in Madrid , Mayagüez and San Juan . Until his appointment as bishop he was pastor in Santurce and episcopal vicar of the pastoral care area of ​​San Juan-Santurce. He was a member of the Council of Priests , the Pastoral Council and the Executive Council of the Archdiocese of San Juan de Puerto Rico .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Fajardo-Humacao on May 16, 2020. The Archbishop of San Juan de Puerto Rico, Roberto Octavio González Nieves, OFM , donated him episcopal ordination on August 15 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Caguas , Eusebio Ramos Morales , and the Bishop of Ponce , Rubén Antonio González Medina CMF .
