Luis Reichard

Luis Reichard (born July 26, 1989 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German jazz and church musician ( trumpet and flugelhorn , also piano , vocals , composition ). He is also a music producer and runs the Acoustic Motion Concepts (AMC) music label .

Career

Reichard has been playing the trumpet and piano since he was six. initially with Max Joos (classical trumpet ) and Roman Babler ( keyboard ). He discovered his interest in jazz in the jazz combo of the Neustadt music school in the Black Forest with Götz Ertle. In addition, he played a musical role in church services. With Meinrad Walter he completed his training as a C church musician. From 2010 to 2015 he studied jazz and popular music with a major in trumpet at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Andy Haderer and Matthias Bergmann .

Reichard was already working on the development of a new aesthetic for church music when he was a student. This was expressed in composition commissions, such as the official motto song for the Pope's visit in 2011 in Freiburg im Breisgau or the Ecumenical Way of the Cross of Youth Ans Licht 2018 on behalf of the Office for Youth Pastoral Care of the German Bishops' Conference. From 2012 to 2016 Reichard played in a duo with the bass guitarist Lorenz Rosenthal under the name MoveDove nationwide concerts in church rooms . The highlight of her work was the setting of the Mass Refugium , which was premiered in the east hall of Leipzig Central Station on the occasion of the 100th German Catholic Day.

Since 2013 Reichard has published albums in the field of experimental church music , jazz and electronic music on his music label Acoustic Motion Concepts .

Reichard has been working as a speaker for music and liturgy in the Catholic University Community of Cologne since 2017 .
