Luka Šamanić (born January 9, 2000 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian basketball player .

career

Šamanić comes from the youth department of the KK Zagreb . His father Marko was a professional basketball player and was under contract with the German Bundesliga club Ludwigsburg during his career . In 2016 Luka Šamanić moved to the youth division of FC Barcelona. In his second year in Barcelona he was also part of the squad of the second men's team and scored an average of 5.1 points in 22 appearances in the second highest Spanish division.

In the summer break of 2018 he moved to the Slovenian top club KK Union Olimpija . In April 2019 he signed up for the NBA draft process . There he was selected in 19th place by the San Antonio Spurs . The Texans announced the winger's subcontract on July 1, 2019.

National team

In 2017 he won the European B Championship in the U18 age group with the Croatian youth national team and was named the best player of the tournament.
