Lusapho April (born May 24, 1982 in Uitenhage ) is a South African marathon runner .

At the road running world championships he came in 2006 in Debrecen on rank 18 and 2007 in Udine on rank 34. At the cross country world championships in 2007 in Mombasa he finished 42nd place.

In 2009, on his debut over the 42.195 km distance, he was eighth in the Hanover marathon and seventh in the South African half marathon championship . In 2010 he won the Half Marathon of the Two Oceans Marathon . A week after he was a good three and a half minutes below his best time as fifth in Hanover, he set a national record over this distance in tenth at the 25 km from Berlin . At the national half marathon championship he was third.

In 2011 he became South African marathon champion, defended his title at the Two Oceans Marathon and won his third start in Hanover. At the Frankfurt Marathon 2011 and the Vienna City Marathon 2012, he did not get beyond 20th place.

On August 12, 2012, he took part in the 2012 Summer Olympics marathon in London . He needed 7:00 p.m. for the route 2, which meant 43rd place.

In 2013 he won the Hanover Marathon with a new best time of 2:08:32 h.

In 2016 he took his third victory at the Hanover Marathon. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he finished 24th in the marathon.
