The Continental O-300 (series A, C and D) is a piston aircraft engine from the US manufacturer Continental . The air-cooled six-cylinder - four cycle - Boxer engine has a displacement of 301 cubic inches (cubic inches), which in the metric system corresponds to about 5 liters. The engine with a curb weight of 248.7 lbs (112.8 kg) develops 145 hp at a speed of 2700 min −1 .
history
In 1947 the O-300 from the Continental C-125 series was further developed under the designation C-145. The O-300 is a modernized C-145 version and was manufactured until 2004. In the 1960s this engine was also built under license by Rolls-Royce .
