history

The land area of the imperial city of Nuremberg

Until the end of the 15th century Möchs had been under the sovereignty of imperial landlords, after which it came under the sovereignty of the imperial city of Nuremberg , to whose land it belonged for the following three centuries. The Hiltpoltstein nursing office, established in Nuremberg in 1503, held the highest jurisdiction over the place , as did the bailiwick over five of the 13 properties in the place. The village and community rule, however, was exercised by the Hüttenbach manor , which belonged to the noble family of Barons Lochner von Hüttenbach . A profound change for Möchs did not occur again until 1806, when the imperial city of Nuremberg with its remaining land was annexed by the Kingdom of Bavaria in violation of the imperial constitution. Together with the rest of the Hiltpoltstein nursing office, Möchs also became Bavarian.

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century, Möchs became part of the rural community of Obertrubach with the second municipal edict in 1818 , which also included the villages of Hackermühle , Herzogwind , Neudorf , Reichelsmühle , Schlöttermühle and Ziegelmühle . In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Möchs was re-incorporated into the Hiltpoltstein market in 1978, while all other districts remained with the municipality of Obertrubach. In 2019 Möchs had 116 inhabitants.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is established by the district road FO 20 , which comes from the south-east of the federal road 2 via Almos and then continues northwards, where it joins the state road St 2260 after about one and a half kilometers near the Hackermühle .
