history

The brick mill is one of the original 19 mills in the Trubach Valley, whose existence is documented by documentary evidence. The first written mention of the brick mill was in 1383 with the name "Arnoldsmühl". Around 1500 it was called "Seelig-Heiligen-Mühl" and in 1718 it was called the "Ziegelmühle" for the first time, which belonged to a Schlicht family. It was also mentioned that it was used as a grinding and sawmill. The mill functions were both discontinued in 1958.

As a result of the administrative reforms at the beginning of the 19th century in the Kingdom of Bavaria , the brick mill became part of the rural community of Obertrubach with the second municipal edict in 1818, which also included the villages of Herzogwind , Möchs and Neudorf as well as the deserted areas Hackermühle , Reichelsmühle and Schlöttermühle . With the exception of the Möchs district, which was re-congregated to Hiltpoltstein in 1978, these localities remained near Obertrubach even after the municipal territorial reform in Bavaria in the 1970s. In 1987 the brick mill had two residents.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is established by the state road St 2260 , which runs through the town and which, coming from the west of Reichelsmühl, continues in an east-northeast direction to Schlöttermühle.
