Mödring is a place and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Horn in the Horn district in Lower Austria . The Rotte Waldschenke is also located in the cadastral area .
geography
The place is on the northern edge of the Horner Basin . The altitude in the town center is 341 meters. The area of the cadastral community covers 9.01 km². The population is 417 (as of 2001).

history
The Mödring area was already settled in the Neolithic , as various finds show. In the Middle Ages, the place was first mentioned in 1180 as Modrich . 1233 is a Dietric de Modric detectable. From the middle of the 16th century until 1620 the parish was Protestant. In 1804, 30 residents died of the plague.
On October 1, 1938, the local and cadastral community Mödring was incorporated into Horn and became independent again on October 10, 1945. Since January 1st 1970 the place belongs again to the municipality Horn.

Attractions
- Parish Church of St. John the Baptist : The church, which emerged from a previous Romanesque building around 1400, was destroyed by the Hussites around 1430and rebuilt between 1440 and 1525.
