The 1903 MLB season was the third season of the modern era of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the first season to introduce the modern World Series , in which the winners of the American League (AL) and National League (NL) meet has been.
The Boston Americans won the title in the American League for the first time and were subsequently able to win in the World Series in 1903 against the title holder of the National League, the Pittsburgh Pirates . For the Pirates, on the other hand, it was the third NL title in a row.
The Baltimore Orioles moved to New York before the season and the franchise went under the name New York Highlanders in the American League. The Cleveland Broncos changed their name again after only one year and now competed as Cleveland Naps and the Chicago Orphans changed their name to Chicago Cubs from 1903 .
