The 1904 MLB season was the fourth season of the modern era of Major League Baseball (MLB). After 1903 the first modern World Series between the winners of the American League (AL) and National League was held (NL), there was no 1904 Postseason.
The Boston Americans finished the season in the American League just 1½ games ahead of the New York Highlanders and thus secured their second title in a row.
In the National League, the New York Giants dominated , with 106 wins from 158 games across the league with the best win rate. For the Giants it was the third NL title in franchise history after 1888 and 1889 . The Pittsburgh Pirates , who previously won the NL title three years in a row, only finished the season in fourth place.
