Małkocin (German Mulkenthin ) is a village and seat of a Schulzenamt in the municipality of Stargard (Stargard in Pomerania) in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship .
Geographical location
Małkocin is located in Western Pomerania , about seven km north of Stargard and 29 km east of the regional metropolis of Szczecin . A stream flows past the village and flows into the Ihna .
history
The village emerged from a manor. Mulkenthin was a fief of the Weyher family from 1490 to 1790 . In 1820, the landlord and peasant conditions were regulated in Mulkenthin, under which the peasants were given their own land. From 1867 to 1945 the estate was owned by the von Leoper family .
Around 1930 the district of Mulkenthin had an area of 9.3 km², and there were four residential areas in the municipality, in which there were a total of 54 residential buildings:

- Müggenkrug
- Hubertus Castle
- Seehof
In 1925 there were 356 inhabitants in the municipality of Mulkenthin, who were spread over 65 houses.
Until 1945 Mulkenthin belonged to the Saatzig district in the Pomeranian province .
Towards the end of the Second World War , Mulkenthin was occupied by the Soviet Army in early March 1945 . After the end of the war, the village was placed under Polish administration. Mulkenthin was renamed Małkocin . The German population was expelled in the period that followed .
Małkocin today has about 470 inhabitants.
Attractions
The 15th century Church of Saint Joseph was burned down in the 16th century and only rebuilt in 1854. The bell dates from 1594. The paintings on the church windows were made in 1888 and 1903.
In the Małkocins cemetery there is a memorial to the fallen German soldiers of the First World War.
