history

The first documentary mention of the village comes from the papal tithe lists of 1332. According to the historian Ioan Lotreanu, the village was founded by the Maczedonia family in Árpád's time. A document from 1466 lists the village with 50 houses and notes Ladislau Doczy as the landlord.

From 1718 to 1778 the village was part of the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat . After the Austro-Hungarian Compromise (1867), the Banat was annexed to the Kingdom of Hungary within the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary . From 1779 until the First World War, Macedonia was part of the Torontal district.

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the triple division of the Banat, whereby Macedonia fell to the Kingdom of Romania . Then Macedonia belonged to the Timiș-Torontal County after the territorial-administrative reform of 1968 to the Timiș County.
