Madonna and Child in Saint-Maixant

The sculpture Madonna and Child in the Church of St-Maixant in Saint-Maixant , a French commune in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was created in the 16th century. In 1980 the sculpture was added to the list of listed objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .

The 63 cm high sculpture made of stone is colored in focus . Mary , depicted with a crown, carries the baby Jesus on her left arm.
