Madonna and Child (Lados)

The sculpture Madonna and Child in the Church of St-Martin in Lados , a French commune in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was created at the end of the 15th century. In 1981 the Gothic sculpture was added to the list of listed objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .

The limestone sculpture from the destroyed Mazères chapel is 70 cm high. The baby Jesus is sitting on the left arm of Mary , who has a crown on her head (missing in the photo), and turns his happy-looking face towards his mother.
