Madonna and Child in Landiras

The sculpture Madonna and Child in the Church of St-Martin in Landiras , a French commune in the Gironde department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was created in the 19th century. In 1980 the sculpture was added to the list of listed objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .

The wooden sculpture is gilded. The baby Jesus sits on Mary's left arm and holds the globe in her left hand. The many folds of Maria's dress give her appearance a fullness.
