Mads Bødker (born August 31, 1987 in Copenhagen ) is a former Danish ice hockey player . His brother Mikkel is also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Mads Bødker began his career as a hockey player in his Danish homeland with the Rødovre Mighty Bulls , for whom he was active from 2003 to 2006 in the AL-Bank Ligaen . In his first full season as a professional, in the 2004/05 season, he was named Rookie of the Year at the AL-Bank Ligaen. He then received a contract with Rögle BK from the second Swedish division, the HockeyAllsvenskan . With Rögle rose in the 2007/08 season in the Elitserien . In his first season in the top Swedish league, the defender scored a total of nine points, including one goal, in 55 games in the 2008/09 season . In the following season he rose with Rögle BK in the HockeyAllsvenskan. In the 2010/11 season, the Danish international failed with the Rögle BK in the Kvalserien on direct return to the Elitserien. In June 2011 he signed a contract with league rival Leksands IF . He left this after a year and joined the Malmö Redhawks , who also compete in the HockeyAllsvenskan.
In 2013 Bødker first played for Juschni Ural Orsk in the second Russian league , before the Düsseldorfer EG , which had numerous losses at the time, signed him on December 17 . The Dane moved back to his homeland for the 2014/15 season and signed a two-year contract with the first division club SønderjyskE Ishockey .
In July 2016 he announced the end of his playing career.
International
For Denmark , Bødker took part in the junior division at the U18 Junior World Championships in 2004 and 2005 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2005 , 2006 and 2007 . He was also in Denmark's squad at the A-World Championships in 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 and 2012 as well as in qualifying for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver .
