Maikol Demetz (born March 21, 1993 ) is an Italian biathlete .

Maikol Demetz lives in St. Christina in Val Gardena and starts for Gruppo Sciatori Fiamme Gialle . The South Tyrolean sports soldier of the Finanzwache contested his first international championships with the Junior World Championships 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě , where he was ninth in the pursuit, the best result in the individual races. With the relay he won the silver medal together with Benjamin Plaickner and Thierry Chenal . A year later in Kontiolahti the pursuit and relay were also the best races, in both Demetz finished fifth. In 2013 , the junior races of the Summer Biathlon World Championships were the only international championship. In the sprint race, he just missed the top ten in eleventh place, in the mixed relay he won the bronze medal with Carmen Runggaldier , Lisa Vittozzi and Andreas Plaickner. In 2014 Demetz initially competed in the junior races of the European Championships and won the bronze medal in the sprint race behind Raman Jaliotnau and Adam Václavík . The best results at the Junior World Championships 2014 in Presque Isle were places 30 and 29 in sprint and pursuit.

In the men's category, Demetz made his debut in the IBU Cup in Obertilliach in 2014 , where he won first points in two sprint races after finishing 70th in the individual as 21st and 31st. In Oberhof followed at the beginning of 2015 the debut in the World Cup , in which Demetz with Christian De Lorenzi , thomas bormolini and Dominik Windisch 14 with the season and the 82nd was in the sprint. The first major international event for men was the 2015 European Championships in Otepää , where the Italian finished 35th in the individual, 50th in the sprint and 56th in the pursuit.

At the 2014 Military World Ski Championships in Passo di Lavazè , Demetz was 59th in the 10-kilometer freestyle.
