Maisenberg is a district of the Engelsberg community in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein .

geography

The place is located in the northern Chiemgau , about three kilometers west of the historical center of Engelsberg at an altitude of 493  m above sea level. NN . Immediately to the east runs the valley of the Mörnbach . The closest larger town is Garching an der Alz, six kilometers to the northeast .

history

The hamlet is first mentioned around 1150. The Bavarian original cadastre shows Maisenberg in the 1810s as a small church village with six hearths, the church and the pertinent churchyard , which arose as a plague cemetery in the Middle Ages . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Maisenberg was incorporated into Engelsberg on July 1, 1972, together with Eiting , who both formerly belonged to the Mühldorf am Inn district . To this day, the place has been predominantly agricultural and the number of buildings has not increased.
