Make Do and Mend is an American post-hardcore / folk-punk band that was formed in West Hartford , Connecticut in 2006 , but now lives in Boston , Massachusetts .
history
Make Do and Mend was founded in West Hartford in 2006 , but later moved to Boston . In 2007 her self-distributed EP We're All Just Living was released . This was followed by the EP Bodies of Water . Both releases were later re-released by Panic Records . The band then toured with Set Your Goals , Comeback Kid and Title Fight, among others .
On November 9, 2010, their first LP, End Measured Mile , was released and received good reviews. Jordan Dreyer, the singer of the band La Dispute , can be heard as a guest musician in the song Ghostal . Make Do and Mend later signed with Paper + Plastick to release their album on vinyl. In 2011 a split EP with Touché Amoré was released .
In 2011 the label Holy Roar Records released the band's complete discography on a double CD. This contains the two EPs and End Measured Mile . In November 2011 the acoustic EP Part and Parcel was released, which contains three new versions of songs from their LP, a Touché Amoré cover and two new songs.
In 2012 the band switched to Rise Records and recorded their new LP Everything You Ever Loved in February . It was recorded, mixed and produced by Matt Bayles ( Mastodon , Minus the Bear , Botch ) in Seattle , Washington . The album was released in June 2012.
Style and reception
The band plays a mixture of post-hardcore and folk-punk. Together with the bands Defeater , La Dispute , Touché Amoré and Pianos Become the Teeth, she forms the movement The Wave , but claimed in interviews that it was more a joke within these bands than a particular movement or a subgenre of hardcore.
