biography

Frydmann came from a Jewish civil servant family. He completed his law studies at the University of Vienna , which he completed with a doctorate ( Dr. jur. ). One of his teachers at this university was Max Menger von Wolfensgrün .

After completing his studies, Frydmann embarked on a career as a civil servant , which he ended as court counsel in Vienna. As a student, he was also active as a journalist for the newspapers Debate and the daily press . Among other things, he reported as a foreign correspondent from Paris during the Franco-German War .

In the 1870s and 1880s, Frydmann made a name for himself as a criminal defense lawyer , but continued to work as a journalist and became known as a writer of political editorials . In 1878 he finally became editor of the Wiener Fremdblatt , which he headed from 1886.

Frydmann received high awards for his work: in 1883 he was appointed Governing Council appointed in 1894 to the Imperial Councilor , and in his hometown of Jaslo he became an honorary citizen . In 1899 he was also raised to the Austrian knighthood (diploma issued in Vienna on March 24, 1900), where he received the territorial predicate "Prawy" and a coat of arms . As part of his ennoblement process, Frydmann had - as was common in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy at the time - to submit a list of three of the territorial predicates he wanted, whereby he had “Goda”, “Ropa” and just “Prawy” ( Polish for “the just “) Suggested. Frydmann was also Commander of the Franz Joseph Order .
