Marcus Coco (born June 24, 1996 in Les Abymes , Guadeloupe ) is a French football player .

Club career

Coco grew up on the French island of Guadeloupe, began playing football for the club in 2003 and switched to Solidarité Scolaire from Pointe-à-Pitre two years later . He stayed with this club for most of his youth before he decided to move to metropolitan France in summer 2012. There he played for Jeanne d'Arc Drancy from the Paris area, but moved to the nearby ASJ Aubervilliers the following winter . In July 2013 he finally managed to move to the youth department of the professional club EA Guingamp .

At Guingamp he already received match practice in the fifth-class second team during the 2013/14 season. At the beginning of 2015, the then 18-year-old was in the squad of the first division team for the first time, for which he was in the starting line-up in a 1-1 draw against Girondins Bordeaux on February 1, 2015 , making his debut in France's top division. This was followed by sporadic missions before he was regularly in the first team from the 2015/16 season.

National team

Before starting his professional career, Coco had not yet found a place in the youth teams of his country. That all changed on October 10, 2015, when the then 19-year-old was called up to play against Scotland in the French U-21s . In the 23rd minute he came on for Kingsley Coman and saw his team win 2-1.
