Marcus Stiglegger (born February 16, 1971 ) is an Austrian publicist , professor of film studies , filmmaker and musician who lives and works in Germany .

Life

Stiglegger was in 1999 at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in professional film studies with the study Sadiconazista - fascism and sexuality in the film doctorate and his habilitation in 2006 with ritual and seduction , where he Seduktionstheorie the film justified. In addition, he has lectureships at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt , the University of Mannheim , the International Film School in Cologne , the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy , the University of Regensburg and the Clemson University . From 2009 to 2014 he taught film and image analysis at the University of Siegen and is a member of the DFG network experience space cinema . In 2014 he was a professor for film studies at the University of Mainz . Since October 1, 2015, he has been Professor of Television and Film at the Dekra University for Media in Berlin. He has been Vice President of this university since March 2016.

Stiglegger writes regularly for the film magazines film-dienst and Epd Film as well as the pop theory magazine Testcard . Since 2002 he has been the founder and publisher of the culture magazine : Ikonen: - magazine for art, culture and lifestyle based in Wiesbaden . He is co-editor and editor of the online magazine Rock and Pop in the Movies and a columnist for the film magazine Deadline . Occasionally he also works as a screenwriter. In this capacity he wrote the screenplay for Der Fahnder : An Eye for an Eye together with Bernd Kiefer . His essays on film have been published regularly in the German film magazine Splatting Image and in issues of film-dienst , among others .
