Marek Jakubiak (born April 30, 1959 in Warsaw ) is a Polish entrepreneur, politician and member of the Sejm in the 8th electoral term .

Life

Jakubiak has a university entrance qualification . In 1980 he graduated from the Officer Candidate School and then completed post- lyceal specialist studies. Then he was a professional soldier and worked in aircraft handling as a technician. After reaching the rank of Oberchorąży , he left the military at the beginning of the 1990s .

In Warsaw an entrepreneur, his company dealt with the installation of cable television . In 1996 he became a member of the supervisory board and board of a brewery in Krotoszyn , which later went bankrupt. In 2002 Jakubiak bought the Ciechan Brewery from the Brau Union . Because of this, he built up his own sales network and developed the production of unpasteurized beer with Ciechan Wyborne . In the following years he expanded over the Brovary Regionalne Jakubiak sp. z oo expanded its company portfolio to include other regional breweries from Bojanowo and Lwówek Śląski .

In the 2015 parliamentary election , he ran for the Kukiz'15 movement in the Płock constituency (supported by the right-wing extremist Ruch Narodowy ) and won a member of parliament with 11,131 votes. He also holds the deputy group chairmanship.

Jakubiak stood out during the debate about the amendment to the law on the Institute of National Remembrance ("Holocaust Law") in 2018 with anti-Semitic and Holocaust relativization statements. He spoke out in favor of equating the fates that Poles and Jews had to endure during the Second World War: He said that “the Poles also suffered a Holocaust that is in no way inferior to the Jewish one”. In addition, while Poles helped Jews during the persecution by Nazi Germany, the Jews, conversely, welcomed the Soviet occupation of Poland with joy. He asked "Where were the Jews when 500,000 Poles were murdered in front of their eyes and two million were put on the death trains to Siberia." He then denied the existence of any anti-Semitism in Poland. In the election as mayor of Warsaw in October 2018, he only came fourth with 3.0%.

Trivia

Jakubiak gave presentations at a business forum at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business . He sponsored the right-wing internet portal kresy.pl . With a fortune of over 62 million zlotys , he is one of the richest Sejm MPs in the 8th legislative period.

In 2014 Jakubiak was mentioned in several German media when he made fun of Dariusz Michalczewski's commitment to combating homophobia.
