Margo Harshman was born in 1986 as the fourth child of her parents in San Diego , California , and has two older sisters and one older and one younger brother. Much of her childhood was spent with her family in La Costa, a suburb of Carlsbad in San Diego County . There she initially attended school ( La Costa Heights Elementary School ) until she and her family moved to Orange County at the age of twelve , where she went to Hewes Middle School , from which she finally came to Foothill High School . There she once attended a ball or a dance evening with the now well-known actor Shia LaBeouf , with whom she was good friends at the time. During her school years, Harshman also played softball for eight years , which she ended, however, due to her start in an acting career. Her actual acting career, however, began much earlier, at the age of two. Over the years she has been used in various theater productions and has also appeared in television commercials. She finally had her first noteworthy television appearance in 1997 when she was one of the leading roles in the television film The Elf Who Didn't Believe . Soon after, she made her breakthrough in the acting field when she slipped into the role of Tawny Dean from 1999 and appeared in almost 50 episodes in the television series Eben ein Stevens until 2003 . For her engagement in the series she was nominated in 2004 for a Young Artist Award in the category “Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) - Supporting Young Actress”.

In addition to her success in Eben ein Stevens , Harshman was only used sporadically in other productions (such as Murphy's Dozen in 2001) and was only used again more often when the series ended. In 2003 she was seen in various TV films and made appearances in films such as Titletown , Recipe for Disaster or Die Stevens strike back , an offshoot of the successful youth television series. For her performance in The Stevens strike back in the role of Tawny Dean , she was nominated for a Young Artist Award in the category "Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries or Special - Supporting Young Actress". The year before that, Harshman, who was already taking part in beauty pageants at the age of two, was taking dance lessons and doing gymnastics from the age of three, and made the leap into an acting career through her own agent at the age of eight, moved from high school to a community College . Following on from the successes of Eben ein Stevens , Harshman was brought in as one of the main characters in the short-lived television series Run of the House in 2003, in which she was used in almost all episodes until 2004. In the years that followed, however, she did not play a major role in a television series, but made frequent guest appearances in various internationally known series. In 2004 she appeared in an episode of Without a Trace and in two episodes of Center of the Universe , where she even played a recurring role in the latter series. In 2005 he worked in the (short) film Fellowship and in an episode of the television series Everwood .

2006 was mainly characterized by film releases in which Harshman was involved. The films The Adventures of Big Handsome Guy and His Little Friend , Simon Says , Hiding Victoria and Judy's Got a Gun , in which Harshman played one of the leading roles each time, were released this year. Furthermore, she was seen in an episode of Grey's Anatomy that year , followed by a somewhat quieter year 2007. In this she was only in the film Rise: Blood Hunter and in an episode of the also very short-lived television series Journeyman - The Time Jumper to see. From 2008 on, the number of productions in which Harshman took part increased. In 2008, five well-known films ( College Road Trip , Keith , From Within , Legacy and Extreme Movie ) were released with Harshman's participation. She also made an appearance in one episode of 90210 and Boston Legal in 2008 . The young Californian finally celebrated another major success in 2009 with the film Beautiful to Death , where she also played in the film Fired Up! and was used in the short film Jenny Got a Boob Job . Following the film, which is best known in English-speaking countries under the title Sorority Row , Harshman and her fellow actors Briana Evigan , Leah Pipes , Rumer Willis , Jamie Chung and Audrina Patridge received the ShoWest Award at the ShoWest Convention in the category Female Star of Tomorrow Award. For Harshman, who was already in a relationship with actor, voice actor, singer and producer Josh Keaton and was also in a relationship with actor Chris Marquette from 2003 to 2005 , this has remained the same to date (March 2011) last appearance in a well-known film production. Also in 2009 she was featured in an episode of Modern Family and in 2010 in an episode of Shit! My Dad Says used.
