history

In 1601 Burghausen was separated from the original parish Altbessingen and became its own parish with Wülfershausen as a branch. Even before the parish was established, there was a small church, which was built in 1584. The patrons of the Church are the Birth of Mary (September 8th) and St. Valentine (February 14th). The founder of the parish was Andreas Müller (nickname Sporer) who was the pastor of Burghausen from 1601 to 1614. In 1779 the nave of the church was rebuilt. In 2001 the 400th anniversary of the parish was celebrated. In 2007 the interior of the church was renovated.
