description
architecture
The stately, east-facing church, a neo-Gothic bare brick building, comprises a high, saddle-roofed nave with five bays and a slightly lower, two-bay choir with a three-sided end. A two-story sacristy with a transverse gable roof is attached to this on the south side and a so-called choir flank tower on the north side. The latter is built on a square floor plan , has corner struts and tapers below the ridge height of the nave by means of a cornice to a shaft with bevelled edges, which has an ogival sound opening and a tower clock on all four sides . Four triangular gables provide the transition to the eight-sided pointed helmet with a tower ball and cross.
Furthermore, the exterior is structured by ogival window openings, pilaster strips on the nave, buttresses on the chancel and a roof frieze - on both the nave and the choir. The inside of the church is accessed through two portals : one in the middle on the west side, another with a small porch on the south side in the second yoke from the west. The interior, richly decorated with wall and ceiling paintings, is spanned by a flat ceiling in the nave and by a pointed barrel in the presbytery . The choir arch is also pointed; three windows in the choir show stained glass . A double gallery with coffered parapets has been inserted in the rear nave yoke .
Furnishing
The furnishings of the church correspond to the contemporary taste of historicism ; Like the building, it is designed in neo-Gothic or Nazarene style.
