Marie-Pierre Parent (born May 15, 1982 in Joliette ) is a former Canadian biathlete .
Marie-Pierre Parent lives in Joliette and trained in Shannon . She started for Biathlon Courcelette and was trained by Daniel Lefebvre. She competed in her first international race at the 2003 Junior World Championships in Kościelisko , where she was 43rd of the individual, 55th of the sprint, 48th of the pursuit and seventh with Louise Weber and Zina Kocher in the relay. In Brusson , she took part in her first race in the Biathlon European Cup in 2004 and immediately won the first points as 13th in the sprint and 21st in the pursuit. The subsequently planned World Cup start in Ruhpolding did not take place at first, but then took place shortly afterwards in Antholz . Parent finished her first individual as 63. This was followed by participation in the 2004 Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof , where the Canadian was 69th in the individual and 78th in the sprint. Parent achieved her best international result in the pre-Olympic test competition on the later Olympic race tracks in Cesana San Sicario with a fifth place in the sprint. Early in the 2004/05 season , the Canadian achieved her best result in a World Cup race with 54th place in an individual at Holmenkollen in Oslo . In Hochfilzen she took part in the Biathlon World Championships in 2005 , where she finished 80 in the individual, 65 in the sprint and eleven in the relay race with Sandra Keith , Zina Kocher and Martine Albert . The high point of his career was the Olympic Games in Turin . Parent was used in three races. In the individual she was 77th, in the sprint 76th and as the last runner of the relay she reached 17th place with Keith, Kocher and Albert. The last major event was the 2007 Biathlon World Championships in Antholz, where the Canadian was 73rd in the individual, came 63rd in the sprint and was 14th in the relay race with Kocher, Keith and Sonya Erasmus . After the season, Parent ended her career.
