Mario Bolter (born July 1, 1984 in Feldkirch ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

society

Bolter began his career at the Vorarlberg club FC Götzis . He came to BNZ Vorarlberg as a talent via the intermediate station FC Lauterach . From there he was hired by the traditional Swiss club Grasshopper Club Zurich .

In Zurich he trained sporadically with the professional team from 2002, but did not make the final breakthrough.

In the winter transition period of the 2002/03 season, he then moved back home to the then Bundesliga club SW Bregenz .

The first half of the year was still unsatisfactory for Bolter in Bregenz, which is notoriously in relegation battle. In the relegation battle there was no place for a talent and Bolter only came on 2 missions without a goal. A strong U-19 European Championship followed in the summer of 2003 during which he was able to draw attention to himself. As a result, he received a regular place under coach Regi van Acker and also caused a sensation in the league. Variable, either as a right defender or in the right midfield, he played a major role in the short-term soaring of his team. At the end of the season, Bregenz took an excellent third place in the table, which was the club's best placement in the Austrian league. The then 20-year-old was quickly predicted a future as an upcoming national player.

In the 2004/05 season, however, the great disillusionment followed. Bregenz could never compensate for the countless departures of team supports such as Bjørn Otto Bragstad , Axel Lawarée , Peter Hlinka and Dietmar Berchtold and slid into the relegation battle from the beginning of the season. Analogous to the loss of quality in the team, Bolter was no longer able to match the strong performances from the previous year. Although he was the undisputed regular player, he was more pricked up by form fluctuations than by performance.

At the end of the season, the team was relegated 15 points behind the Bundesliga. Due to financial problems, the team's license was withdrawn, which allowed Bolter to change for free.

As a result, Bolter signed with SV Pasching, then established in the top Austrian field . Under the then successful coach Georg Zellhofer , who, in addition to Bolter, had brought another talented player in the form of Alexander Hauser from the Bregenz bankruptcy estate, he then became a regular player. After moving from Zellhofer to Rapid Vienna , he played 3 more games under his successor Helmut Kraft before he was advised to leave the club again during the winter break. However, Bolter declined on the grounds that he wanted to bite through. An "epidemic year" followed without any effort under the coaches Andreas Heraf and Dietmar Constantini . On the one hand, several minor wounds threw him back again and again, and on the other hand, no value was placed on him after the respective convalescence.

For the 2006/07 season, the logical change on loan to SCR Altach, who had recently been promoted to the Bundesliga, followed . In his first season with the Vorarlberg team, he was able to build on his earlier achievements and became an important pillar in the team. Among other things, he also proved himself as an important cross giver for the Brazilian top scorer Léo . As a result he was signed by Altach. The 2007/08 season then turned out to be rather unpleasant for the player. Under coach Manfred Bender , he lost his regular place and made 13 appearances, none of which he was allowed to complete the full game distance. In January 2009, Bender informed him that he would no longer plan with him and that he should look for a new club. When Bolter couldn't do this, he had to serve his contract until the summer of 2008 without any effort.

Without match practice, he then had no offer, whereupon he joined the club for players without a contract of the "Swiss Association of Football Players (SAFP)" .

On September 17, 2008, when he signed a contract with the Austrian second division club SC Austria Lustenau, his time as a player without a contract ended. As a result, he received a regular place with the eternal aspirant of promotion under coach Johann Kleer and after his replacement under Edmund Stöhr again.

In 2011 he moved to FC Lustenau . After two years at FC, he returned to Austria in 2013.

After the 2016/17 season he ended his professional career and moved to the fourth-class SC Röthis .

National team

Bolter was a member of the Austrian U-19 national team, which took an excellent 3rd place at the 2003 European Championships . Bolter was considered one of the pillars of the team.

As a result, he was nominated for the Austrian U21 national football team during his time at Bregenz and Pasching .
