Mark E. Ferguson
Mark E. Ferguson III. (Born October 30, 1956 in Newfoundland , Canada ) is a former admiral in the United States Navy (USN). Between July 22, 2014 and June 7, 2016 he was in command of the US Naval Forces Europe (USNAVEUR), the US Naval Forces Africa (USNAVAF) and the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples).
Ferguson previously served as assistant chief of naval operations from August 22, 2011 through June 30, 2014 .
education
Ferguson was born in Newfoundland, but grew up in Maryland and received his officer's license in 1978 after studying at the US Naval Academy . His further education includes a master's degree in computer science from the Naval Postgraduate School .
