Markus Birkhoff
Markus Birkhoff (* 1967 in Grevenbroich ) is a German guitarist and guitar teacher.
Life
Markus Birkhoff lives in Kevelaer on the Lower Rhine and has been playing classical guitar since he was ten years old. At the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf, he was trained by Maritta Kersting , professor of guitar, and passed the music teacher examination in 1993. Furthermore, he passed his artistic maturity examination there in 1996 with distinction and finished his studies in 1997 with the concert exam. In the same year his highly acclaimed debut CD with works by John Dowland and Johann Sebastian Bach was released , which was followed by other classical guitar CDs.
Markus Birkhoff, who took part in several competitions, was a student of the English guitarist and lutenist Julian Bream at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival in 1994 . Numerous concerts, radio and television productions etc. a. WDR , as a soloist or with different chamber music ensembles or orchestras, as well as his work as an independent music teacher round off the artistic commitment.
