Marti ten Kate (born December 16, 1958 in Vollenhove ) is a former Dutch long-distance runner who was able to achieve numerous successes in road runs , especially in the 1980s .

Life

Among other things, he won four times the City - Pier - City Loop in The Hague (1987-1990) and the 20 van Alphen (1984, 1987, 1989-1990), three times the Egmond half marathon (1983, 1988, 1990), twice Enschede Marathon (1987–1988) and once the Zevenheuvelenloop in Nijmegen (1987).

In 1987 he finished 22nd at the World Athletics Championships in Rome in the marathon . He was a participant in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. In the 10,000-meter run he was ninth in 27: 50.30 minutes and thirteenth in the marathon in 2:14:53 hours. At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 , he was fourteenth over 10,000 m, while he was eliminated in the 5000-meter run in the qualifying round.

In addition, he was a total of eleven times Dutch champion: four times in the 10,000-meter run (1986-1987, 1989-1990), three times in the 5000-meter run (1984, 1988-1989), and once each in the obstacle course (1982), in Marathon (1987), cross-country running ( 1989) and over 25 km (1988).

Marti ten Kate is 1.72 m tall and weighed 57 kg when he was active.
