Theodor Kappenberg (born July 30, 1848 in Nordkirchen ; † September 12, 1920 in Münster ) was a Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Münster .

Life

Theodor cap mountain was on August 10 in 1873 by the Münster bishop Johannes Bernhard Brinkmann for priests ordained and received in 1874 a first job as an informer for Friedrich von Landsberg-Velen and Gemen on Castle Gemen . In 1884 he was appointed vicar at St. Margaretha in Ostenfelde . From 1890 he worked as pastor of St. Matthias in Berlin , where the neo-Gothic St. Matthias Church was built under his leadership . In 1900 Bishop Hermann Jakob Dingelstad first appointed him pastor of St. Pankratius in Buldern and in 1904 pastor of St. Martini in Wesel , until Bishop Johannes Poggenburg appointed him to the cathedral chapter in Münster in 1914 .

On April 27, 1914, Pope Pius X appointed him auxiliary bishop in Münster and titular bishop of Sozopolis . The episcopal ordination took place on May 24, 1914 by Bishop Poggenburg. Cocoon screechers were the Cologne auxiliary bishop Joseph Müller and the Paderborn auxiliary bishop Heinrich Haehling von Lanzenauer .
