In 1737 he and Johann Zeiler were awarded prizes for portraits that showed a depiction of Dalila "how she cuts Samsonen's hair". This picture is considered lost. Some of his portraits ended up in the collection of the historical association in Regensburg. He also made a portrait of Senator Christian Theophil Dimpfel, which was engraved in copper by Johann Jacob Haid . Johann Zoffany learned the painting trade from him in Regensburg.
