Mashiki ( Japanese 益 城 町 , - machi ) is a city in Kamimashiki-gun in the Japanese prefecture of Kumamoto .
history
Mashiki was at the Kumamoto earthquake on 14./16. April 2016 the most severely affected location with the highest intensity 7 on the JMA scale .

Through Mashiki, the Kyūshū highway leads to Kitakyūshū or Kagoshima , and the national road 443 to Ōkawa or Hikawa .
