Hitoyoshi ( Japanese 人 吉 市 , - shi ) is a Japanese city in Kumamoto Prefecture on Kyushu Island .
history
Hitoyoshi is an old castle town . The Sagara resided at Hitoyoshi Castle .
The city Hitoyoshi was founded on 11. February 1942 from the merger of community Hitoyoshi ( 人吉町 , -machi ) with 3 villages ( 西瀬村 , 中原村 , 藍田村 ) in the district of Kuma .
