Mateusz Sawrymowicz (born April 22, 1987 in Lublin ) is a Polish swimmer .
Career
At the Swimming World Championships in Melbourne in 2007 he was world champion in the 1500 m freestyle in 14: 45.94 minutes, 1.35 seconds ahead of the Russian Yuri Prilukow . He replaced the Australian series winner Grant Hackett , who could not intervene in the fight for the medals. Shortly before, he had already won the Junior World Championships.
Sawrymowicz missed the 2008 Olympic Games in 14: 50.30 minutes. just about the final and finished ninth in the overall standings.
