Career

At the Swimming World Championships in Melbourne in 2007 he was world champion in the 1500 m freestyle in 14: 45.94 minutes, 1.35 seconds ahead of the Russian Yuri Prilukow . He replaced the Australian series winner Grant Hackett , who could not intervene in the fight for the medals. Shortly before, he had already won the Junior World Championships.
