Matthew Letscher (born June 26, 1970 in Grosse Point , Michigan ) is an American actor .

Life

Matt Letscher attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor , where he was a member of the Sigma Nu organization. His younger brother Brian Letscher is also an actor.

Letscher got his first role in a play by the honorary actors' association Purple Rose Theater Company , which was founded by actor Jeff Daniels . Then Letscher moved to Los Angeles , where he was able to get involved as a television actor with guest appearances in various series. He made his film debut in 1996 in the war film Gettysburg .

Letscher's best-known roles include Eric Garrett in the sitcom Joey and Capt. Harrison Love in Martin Campbell's adventure film The Mask of Zorro . In 2003 he starred as Adelbert Ames in the historical drama Gods and Generals . In 2004 he took on the leading role in the comedy film Straight Jacket . In 2008 he starred as Nathan Stone in the drama series Eli Stone . In 2009 he also had guest appearances on the series Brothers & Sisters and Entourage .
