Matthias Löwenstein

Matthias Löwenstein (* 1984 as Matthias Bäuerle) is a German graphic designer and illustrator. Since 2004 he has been working with his agency Season Zero for national and international bands and musicians.

Professional background

Even before his freelance career as a graphic designer and illustrator, Matthias Löwenstein worked for befriended bands (e.g. Mom's Day , Stehcafe ) and thus worked - and through covers for his own bands Navigator and Mantikor (in which he worked as a guitarist and songwriter ) - a basis for his portfolio . In September 2009 he finished his studies as media designer at the Cooperative State University in Ravensburg and in October 2009 he set up his own agency Season Zero .

His main field of activity is the conceptual development and graphic implementation of artworks for bands and musicians. Detailed illustrations and photo-realistic image montages are among his trademarks. He often combines this with a very clear composition and typography . His personal works are shaped by stylistic devices of Art Nouveau - motifs from the animal world and mythology are predominant.

He designed artwork for bands and artists, such as B. a-ha , Rea Garvey , Glasperlenspiel , Sunrise Avenue and Staatspunkrott .

In November 2015 he exhibited his own works and illustrations for the first time as part of the literary days in Albstadt - together with Holger Much, Robert Zivkovic and Ingo Römling.

In October 2015 he moved to Berlin . He has been living and working with his partner in Stralsund since 2017 . In 2018 he married Matthias Löwenstein. Has lived in his hometown of Albstadt again after separating in 2019 .

Trivia

During his school days he and Marcel Turino (alias "Tristan") started the online role-playing server "Siebenwind" under the pseudonym "Alerionh" and based on the Ultima Online Engine. In December 1998 still titled "Aventurien Online", due to an article in PC-Action (10/1999) Fanpro withdrew its permission to continue to base the game system on the game world of " Das Schwarze Auge ". With a growing community, an own role-playing system is being developed, which will also serve as the basis for a constant player base in 2017.
