Mátyás Holló (born May 14, 1977 in Jászberény ) is a Hungarian biathlete and cross-country skier . He took part in a total of eight Olympic Games, World and European Championships.

Mátyás Holló is the son of the Hungarian cross-country skier Miklós Holló , who also trains him. The engineer starts for Vasas SC Budapest . He started biathlon in 1996 and has been a member of the Hungarian national team since 1998. The Hungarian made his international debut in 1997 at the Junior World Championships in Forni Avoltri . He was used in singles and was 70. He contested his first race in the biathlon world cup at the beginning of the 2000/01 season in Hochfilzen and was 112th in a sprint. He was used almost continuously in the World Cup this season and achieved his best World Cup result in Lake Placid as the 85th sprint race. The highlight of the season were the 2001 Biathlon World Championships in Pokljuka , where Holló was 88th in the individual and 97th in the sprint. Between the 2001/02 and 2005/06 seasons , the Hungarian came only sporadically to World Cup appearances, including at the 2004 Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof , where he was 108th of the individual and 105th of the sprint. It was now regularly used in the Biathlon European Cup and, after its renaming, in the IBU Cup . In 2004 in sprints in Langdorf and in 2007 in Nové Město na Moravě , he finished 51st on his best placings in the racing series. So far, the last use at a major event was the participation in the sprint race of the Biathlon European Championships 2008 in Nové Město, which he finished in 83rd place.

Holló was also able to achieve some successes in cross-country skiing. After two FIS races in January 1999, he already started at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein and finished 76th in the 30-kilometer freestyle, 85th in the 10-kilometer classic and 71st in the pursuit. A year later he came to his first and only use in the cross-country skiing world cup and was in Lamoura / Mouthe 82nd in a 72-kilometer freestyle race. Until the next major event, it was only used in lower-class races in the Cross-Country Continental Cup and the FIS, but without achieving any results worth mentioning. In Salt Lake City , the Hungarian came to his only appearances at the Olympic Winter Games . In the freestyle sprint he came in 59th place and was 75 in the double pursuit. This was followed by assignments at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2005 in Oberstdorf . Holló was only used in the classic sprint, where he was 82nd. He competed in far more races in 2007 in Sapporo and was 65th in the classic sprint, 94th in the 15-kilometer freestyle race and did not finish his pursuit. At the 2009 World Cup in Liberec , he missed qualifying for the 15-kilometer classic race in a qualifying race.
