Hanne Maudens (born March 12, 1997 in Wetteren ) is a Belgian heptathlete and long jumper .
Athletic career
Her first international championships were the European Youth Olympic Festival 2013 in Utrecht , where she won the silver medal in the long jump with 6.06 m. In 2014 she took part in the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing and missed a medal there with 6.04 m as fourth in the long jump. In the following year she won the silver medal in the heptathlon at the Junior European Championships in Eskilstuna with 5720 points and reached fifth place with 6.29 m in the long jump. In 2016 she won the bronze medal in the heptathlon at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz with 5881 points. The following year, she finished twelfth place in the long jump at the U23 European Championships with 6.12 m and had to end her competition in the heptathlon early. Nevertheless, she qualified for the first time for the World Championships in London , where she finished 23rd with 5749 points .
At the 2018 European Championships in Berlin she was tenth with 6104 points and eighth in the indoor pentathlon at the 2019 European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 4440 points. Then she won the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships in Gävle with 6093 points behind the Swiss Géraldine Ruckstuhl and Sophie Weißenberg from Germany. She also took ninth place in the long jump with 6.09 m. In late summer, she finished eleventh at the World Championships in Doha with 6088 points.
In 2017 and 2019 Maudens became Belgian champion in the long jump outdoors and from 2017 to 2020 also in the hall. In 2019, she also secured the championship title in the indoor pentathlon.
