The McLaren 620R is a sports car from McLaren Automotive , which is internally counted as part of the Sports Series .
history
The 620R, limited to 350 copies, was presented on December 9, 2019. Production of the series models began in January 2020 in Woking, UK . The first vehicles were delivered to customers in February 2020. The purchase price in Germany is 300,000 euros.
technology
Technically, the vehicle is based on the McLaren 570S GT4 racing car . In contrast to this, the 620R is also approved for the road.
With an output of 456 kW (620 hp), the sports car is the most powerful model in McLaren's Sports Series . The name is based on the maximum output and maximum torque of the 3.8-liter gasoline engine . At 250 km / h, the downforce of the vehicle should be 185 kg, which is made possible, among other things, by an adjustable carbon fiber rear wing . The top speed of 320 km / h is below that of the McLaren 570S, as the optimized aerodynamics are not designed for a higher top speed. The 620R should accelerate to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds, three tenths of a second faster than the 570S.
