Office Baldeneck

The Baldeneck office was an administrative and judicial district in the Electorate of Trier that existed from the 14th century to 1780 . In 1780 the office became part of the Zell office .

history

The core of the later office was Balduinseck Castle , also called Baldeneck. The castle was the seat of the bailiff. The office consisted of the places Beltheim , Frankweiler , Lahr , Lieg , Burgen , Mastershausen , Sabershausen , Sosberg , Treis and Zilshausen

Archbishop Johann VI. (1556–1567) ordered a four-year land tax on November 26, 1556 with the consent of the state estates in Koblenz. The tax amounted to 3.5 guilders per 1000 guilders of wealth. On July 20, 1563, he requested reports from all offices that should provide information about the places and the taxpayers there. In the Baldenau office there were 254 fire places in the following places:

When the castle fell into disrepair, the office of the bailiff was relocated to Zell . In 1780 the office of Baldeneck was abolished and the offices were assigned to the office of Zell .
