Upper Office Mayen

The Oberamt Mayen was an administrative and judicial district in the Electorate of Trier with its seat in Mayen, which existed from the 16th century to 1794 .

Components

The Mayen Office consisted of the Mayen Office , the Kaisersesch Office , the Monreal Office , the Langenfeld parish , the Pellenz , the Kempenich dominion and Kruft , Niedermendig , Obermendig and Volkesfeld . With regard to Obermendig and Volkesfeld, the St. Florin monastery claimed sovereignty. With a review from 1662, the St. Florin Monastery waived its claims.

The parish of Langenfeld

The parish of Langenfeld, the Monreal office and the Kleine and Große Pellenz originally belonged to the Counts of Virneburg . It subsequently shared the history of the Monreal office .

It consisted of the places Acht , Arft , Langenfeld, Langscheid and Welschenbach . Langenfeld had 40 houses at the end of the HRR , including two mills and 39 citizens. In addition to the church in Langenfeld, there was the St. Jost chapel as a branch church . Ober- and Niederwelschenbach had 24 houses and 24 citizens. Niederwelschbach (this side of the Nitz) was Electoral Trier, Oberwelschbach was Virneburg. Eight has 24 houses and 25 citizens, Arft 22 houses 22 citizens and Langscheid 12 citizens and 11 houses.
