Megan Sneddon (born September 9, 1985 in Bellshill , Scotland , United Kingdom ) is a Scottish football player . The midfielder has been under contract with the Scottish club Motherwell Ladies in the Second Division of the Scottish Women's Football League since 2015 . She has been playing internationally for the Scottish national football team since 2002, but has not been considered since September 2014.
Career
society
At the age of 16, Sneddon won the triple of championship, cup and league cup with the Kilmarnock Ladies . In 2002 she made her debut in the 2002/03 UEFA Women's Cup with Kilmarnock , but failed in the group stage. Also in the following season there came an early end. More championships with Glasgow City LFC followed later . With City she failed in the 2nd round of the UEFA Women's Cup 2008/09 and in the qualification of the UEFA Women's Champions League 2009/10 and 2010/11 against the German runners-up . In 2011 she had a short engagement in Liverpool. Then played for city rivals Celtic and Rangers (runner-up in 2014).
National team
For the Scottish national football team Sneddon made his debut the day before her 17th birthday on September 8, 2002 in the first game of the Scottish against the USA . In 2008 she was the team captain of the Scottish U-23 team at the Nordic Cup . The Scottish women didn't manage to score a single goal and so they lost the game for seventh place. On June 21, 2012, she made her 100th international match in a 1-0 win against Ireland in qualifying for the EM 2013 . She has not yet qualified for a major tournament with the Scottish women. In 2008 and 2012 they failed in the playoffs for the European Championships in 2009 and 2012 to Russia and Spain, respectively . Her last international match to date was on September 17, 2014 in qualifying for the 2015 World Cup against Sweden .
In December 2011 she was one of the Scottish players who were considered for Team GB , who were to represent the United Kingdom at the 2012 Olympic Games in London . Ultimately, however, it was not taken into account.
